Indonesia Travel writers for a popular website (Viral article writing) job at MehTheSheep Travel Singapore

We are one of the fastest growing travel portal, currently focusing on unique Bali travel guides that would inspire people about what they can do and where they can stay in Bali.

Since our debut in July 2014, we have a steady traffic of over 300,000 readers visiting our site each month. In addition, we have an active and highly engaged Facebook community of 17,000 and counting. Majority of our readers are from Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and Australia. With this success, we aspire to deliver more to our readers and has recently launched our new site @ https://indonesia.tripcanvas.co, sharing unique Indonesia travel guides.

Driven by a team of travel passionate writers and editors, we’ve been curating and creating travel stories about Bali that you’d seldom hear from anywhere else. We pride ourselves as experts in creating engaging content that gets people talking and sharing all over the web.

Our slogan, “Not Your Usual Travel Guide” explains very well what we stood for to uniquely create travel content that would inspire people in an unconventional yet powerful way.

1 Perks include possible media trips in the future.
2 You must love travelling and be enthusiastic about sharing with people.
3 You must have been to Indonesia before and know the travel landscape well, so that you can give us more insights and produce great content that people want to read. You might need to do research (i.e. online) on the place you are writing about.
4 Excellent command of English language and a love for writing.
5 Know how to source for good photos/videos that's apt for the article.
6 Your writing style has to be aligned to the nature of the articles: sharable content and has the potential to grow viral (i.e. buzzfeedish style writing, fun and witty). Our target audience would mainly be Indonesian (majority). Hence you must be familiar with the concept of viral content and know how to engage readers.
7 We value quality over quantity, and although you can syndicate or reproduce some great articles that had been proven to be successful (i.e. great number of shares), you have to re-angle the story to provide more unique insights or value-added elements.
8 You must be enthusiastic in researching for new story ideas on a daily basis, but no worries if you have any trouble with generating new ideas, as we will guide you along the way.
9 For every story, please come up with a few engaging headlines for us to choose from - headlines that do not compromise on the accuracy of the story but can capture attention.
10 Story length may vary. 500- 600 words would be a good estimate.
11 Being part of our team will enable you to build your own writing portfolio, Upon completion of each article, you may use it as writing samples, but strictly no reproduction of it for commercial use or for any other personal financial gains, subject to our T&C.

IMPORTANT: Before you apply, make sure you read this spreadsheet and understand our expectation. It's not about writing another "me too" article.
