About the job
We are looking for a Software Engineer to take part in the development of our core multichannel communication platform. You will be a part of the Engineering team, developing the real-time communication services of the future. We are looking for someone who can code but also bring significant value on the architectural decisions to ensure the development of high performance, reliable and scalable services.
Main Responsibilities
• Design, develop and maintain the next generation communication platform
• Research on new technologies, evaluate, prototype and plan improvements for the platform
• Create technical design specifications and testing plans
• Collaborate across the company
• Deliver data-driven reports
Desired skills and experience
· 3+ years of professional software development experience
· Excellent object oriented programming skills with strong design patterns and multi-threading experience
· Expert knowledge and experience of at least one JVM language (Java, Scala, Clojure, etc) and its concurrency model
· Experienced in developing highly scalable distributed systems using Java / Scala / cplusplus targeting multi-core environments
· Good knowledge of Linux, Git, SQL, CI tools, REST, XML, JSON, and SOAP Web services
· Experienced in agile methodologies
Beneficial skills and experience
· Knowledge and experience of actor based concurrency (Spec. Akka framework)
· Experienced in functional programming (Erlang / Haskell / Lisp / etc)
· Knowledge of XMPP, SMPP, VoIP and real time streaming protocols
· Experience working with AWS
· Experience working with .NET technologies
· Knowledge of mobile application development (Android / iOS)
Qualifications
• A Computer Science degree or an equivalent qualification
