Toucan (http://www.gotoucan.co) is a mobile wallet that lets users double the value of their money. Our vision is to be the defacto gamified, centralized currency wallet for developing countries in South-East Asia.
The team consists of veterans in the local start-up scene boasting experiences such as consultants from venture accelerators, growth hustler featured on national TV, as well as former engineers from Luxola, TradeGecko, etc. We're also backed by a prominent regional VC and currently based in town central.
As a software engineer (frontend), you’re a hipster-geek enigma proving to the world that you can create world class products at dizzying start-up pace. You do not tolerate substandard work even if it means losing all your sleep over it. You live and breathe latest technological news and are overly obsessed with finding that bugs lying in your freshly roasted algorithm waiting to be squashed. Yet, amidst all the great work you are about to produce, you know what to prioritize in order to live up to the name of a true blue star hacker.
Responsibilities of Lead Front-End Developer personnel:
- • Work with our developing Co-Founder closely, come up with awesome designs which drives the vision of our entire product proposition for our users and make sure the company’s aesthetic image serves its overall business strategy
- • You will be tasked with creating addictive interfaces that a blind man can identify with and get hooked on ;)
- • Work closely with local team consisting of frontend/backend/biz dev cofounders to ensure frontend development is aligned to best deliver value for users
- • Design, implement, test, deploy and support the UI component of the App in a lean manner.
Critical skills:
- • Adobe Creative Suite (PS/AI/etc) experience or equivalent are a must. We use collaborative prototyping tools such as Invision, Atomic.io, etc.
- • Javascript stacks (angular.js/backbone.js/etc)/HTML5/CSS 3 - frontend coding experience are a must.
- Mobile development environment a huge plus point (we are currently doing ionic.io on angular.js)
- Responsive web design is a given (assuming you ARE indeed a frontend developer-please don't apply otherwise)
- Previous portfolio of user interface/experience projects are a huge plus point
- • Experiences with back-end API integration via REST API services (insomnia) are a huge plus point.
