SUGAR is an early stage start-up studio that nurtures greenfield ideas to change the world. Unlike traditional accelerators or incubators, it will unearth great start-ups from the idea stage, provide seed funding, help organic growth, and lead to a flourishing exit.
Who are we?
Lawr is a new web based platform that we envisage would change the way clients and lawyers
interact. We are a young company but have big plans to expand quickly around the world. Our
operations are based in Singapore but right now our primary focus is India.
Your role
At Lawr we place a priority on the need to connect with all of our partners, being lawyers, law firms
and clients. Your role will be to meet the demands of each of our partners and show them why Lawr
is the best way for them to interact.
You will also be responsible for developing, promoting and growing the community in India. You will
be working closely with the CEO and co-founder - a former commercial lawyer turned entrepreneur.
You will also closely supervise a sales force that will be responsible to attract new stakeholders and
partners to us.
Responsibilities
- Managing day-to-day operations in Mumbai.
- Be the “face” of Lawr in Mumbai and assist in any publicity/networking efforts to promote the brand.
- Managing, dealing with any customer issues, and actively being responsible for quality in all
respects.
- Meeting weekly and monthly growth targets.
- Handling administrative, financial and various other miscellaneous needs.
We are looking for an entrepreneurial-minded lawyer looking to make the move to a start-up. If you
are a skillful and accomplished lawyer, and you feel more naturally suited to the world of business,
then this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for. The key attributes we are looking for are
intelligence, attitude and ambition.
In addition to that, the following are important:
- Living in Mumbai or willing to re-locate. Hindi/Marathi language skills are an asset.
- Entrepreneurial and energetic mindset.
- Some business/operational background would be useful.
- An understanding of start-up culture and the unique requirements that come with operating in such
an environment.
- A sense of urgency and a “make things happen” attitude.
- Strong initiative and emphasis on achieving tangible results.
- 3+ years of legal experience (full service preferred but not essential).
- Great reputation and strong existing connections in the legal community would be major assets.
