- Continually improve our user experience and site performance through IT innovations and ensuring our sites are SEO perfect.
- installing plug-ins, fixing glitches and ensuring that we have a website that loads quickly and is secure.
- Work with graphic design team to add new interactive features to the site like job boards and forums
- Ensure our sites are performing at optimum levels (speed and security)
- To help manage our email blasts so we can segment our data and send blasts to targeted subscriber groups
- To liaise with hosting, server and related 3rd party vendors
- Assist us to find an app developer and manage the app development process
· Documented experience in delivering and managing large scale websites using WordPress, understanding its strengths and weaknesses
· Experience with the tools surrounding WordPress : LEMP stack (Linux, Nginx, MySQL and PHP).
· Experience developing Wordpress Multisite, plugins and themes
· Experience with parent themes, caching systems – Nginx Microcaching, W3 Total Cache.
· Demonstrate good software engineering practices such as source code management, deployment process and Wordpress security monitoring.
· Grasp of the full web-stack, from relational database to working knowledge of HTML/Javascript-Jquery/CSS3
· Understand issues surrounding analysis, tuning, scalability, high availability and concurrency of the WordPress platform and hosting infrastructure and work alongside the wider operations team towards these goals
· Experience managing AWS infrastructure including but not limited to Amazon Cloudfront , Route 53, EC2, S3, RDS
· Be educated to degree level in a numerate discipline, or have obtained equivalent experience
· Be able to demonstrate a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving – paying close attention to detail
· Be able to demonstrate effective oral and written communication ability covering all routine activities and contacts
· Be able to competently plan, schedule and monitor their own work
· Be familiar with, and be able to use as directed, all applicable tools, methods, procedures and standards
· Any experience with Google Display Networks & Double Click ad management platform, Facebook Pixel Ad management an advantage.
