JOB DESCRIPTION
We're looking for a CTO to lead technology strategy & development.
"Option to take equity, up to 10%"
You will
- Map our business goals into a technical strategy - you are technical, but you understand business needs of an early stage startup
- Evangelist for all technical and key platform architecture decisions, from concept through development and deployment.
- Analyze tradeoffs to optimize for growth and stability - we're a startup that needs to move quickly
- Build and manage a team of A+ developers
- Proven ability to provide leadership and execute technical strategy using your extensive knowledge of multiple web languages
- Develop code, hands on, where necessary
- Determine hiring needs as we grow and recruit and manage the engineering team
- The challenge of integrating multiple open source software components into a single platform excites you.
- CS Degree/experience with content management systems and rich media/digital media services
You should have
- Advanced degree in computer science or equivalent experience
- Entrepreneurial spirit; excitement about building innovative consumer products
- 5-10 years managing developers, ideally having worked as a VP of Engineering*Experience working in agile/scrum environments & in an early stage startup
- Experience with natural language processing, machine learning, or other artificial intelligence techniques
- Experience building rule-based systems*Experience building or using search algorithms
- Experience building cloud-hosted software as a service solution.
- Have an understanding of how to embed analytics into your website, and how to use analytical data (Google Analytics, FB analytics etc) to optimize the user acquisition funnel.
- How to use analytics to drive iteration of website design (possibly via A/B testing) to optimize relevant conversions (ex. search for doctors, post medical questions etc).
- Appreciation of UX - our website must be delightful to consumers
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Thrive in a fast-paced, FUN start-up environment, taking on many challenges at once.
- Deep accountability in your work and want the responsibility of being part of a founding team and desire to take ownership over all technical components of the business but also work well with a team.
