Inventory & Supply Chain Management - Junior Executive job at Choo Yilin Artisan Jewellery Singapore

Choo Yilin is a Singaporean, award-winning fine jewellery label that has been selected to showcase its work at platforms like Paris Fashion Week and London Jewellery Week. It partners with heritage and social impact communities, creating luxurious pieces that tell important stories of their conservation efforts.

The label works with highly skilled artisans in South-East Asia that come from a rich history of wood and jade carving, gold-smithing and other fine jewellery techniques. It has been featured extensively in the press, including The New York Times and The Financial Times.

IN A NUTSHELL? 
1. To ensure that orders for new jewellery are completed in a timely, accurate and cost effective fashion. 
2. It may sound simple, and it is, but to execute on these promises requires an understanding of an ecosystem. There is a need to maintain a good working relationship with external suppliers and be uber organised on timelines. 
3. There is also a need to be a bit of a numbers ninja; this role requires you to be able to derive unit costs, gross margins and to execute pricing strategy. 


So, if you break it down, this role entails the following tasks - 
1. Sending out orders/instructions to our suppliers.
2. Communicating and monitoring the timelines of the orders.
3. Quality control and Inventory stock control for freshly produced items.
4. Working with the inventory manager to alert the relevant teams where inventory needs to be replenished. 


In the NEAR future, this role can expand to the additional responsibilities - 
1. Fixing problems that emerge at ground zero of the production process, and believe us, there are plenty that happen on a daily basis. 
2. Learning to forecast and plan for inventory needs alongside the inventory manager. 
3. Sourcing for new suppliers and raw materials.

WHO SHOULD APPLY/PERKS

2. This job doesn't require you to be in the office Mondays to Fridays from 8 am to 5 pm; there is flexibility to work from home on some days, and you can come into the office at 11 am everyday if you wish.
