We are anchoring ourselves in major cities and are looking for a mature, meticulous and independent Accountant to join our Malaysia team.

 

Perform accurate and timely recording of revenue and costs into the accounting system (Xero)

Perform timely closing of the accounts on a monthly basis

Reconcile monthly balance sheet accounts

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer Asia and functionally to the Country Managing Director (Malaysia), you must be a certified Accountant with the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA).  You are a sole contributor and have overall responsibility for the accurate financial and tax reporting

Prepare monthly management reports and accounts analysis for audit and tax purposes

Perform timely accounting of GST and taxes and file quarterly and/or yearly GST, withholding and Corporate tax

Process monthly payroll and file mandatory contributions

Monitor monthly cash requirements, manage accounts payable, monitor and follow up with Operations team on Accounts Receivables

Liaise with auditors/ tax agents on tax and audit issues and Corporate HQ (in Singapore) on accounting matters

Carry out ad hoc activity such as responding to government surveys, directors and shareholders reporting needs

Bachelor degree in Accounting from a reputable university

Minimum 3 to 6 years’ relevant accounting experience in multi-national companies

Some experience in setting up accounting system preferred

Prior experience in using accounting software such as SAP, MYOB, QuickBook etc

Several years of hands-on experience on full set of accounts, taxation and dealing with auditors and tax authorities

Independent, positive, mature, analytical and meticulous in numbers

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malay
